A local couple led a neighborhood-wide tree-planting initiative across the West End to combat climate change and improve quality of life. The effort, profiled by local television, has added dozens of new trees to streets previously lacking green space. Volunteers from nearby Massachusetts General Hospital and local schools joined the planting days. Organizers hope the effort will inspire similar initiatives in other downtown neighborhoods.
