A faded painted advertisement on a West End building was painstakingly restored by two brothers, preserving a piece of the neighborhood’s industrial history. The ghost sign had been deteriorating for decades before the restoration began.
The project drew attention from preservationists who say such signs are an important but often overlooked part of Boston’s architectural heritage. The brothers hope to tackle additional faded signs in the neighborhood.
