A 1.06 billion dollar project to replace the aging North Station Draw One Bridge got underway, promising major construction jobs and improved rail infrastructure adjacent to the West End. The project is expected to take several years. Commuters have been warned to expect periodic disruptions as work progresses. State officials say the new bridge will be more reliable and allow faster commuter rail service in and out of North Station.
